I went to watch the new comedy 'The Other Guys' on Friday, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that Will Ferrell can still make me laugh. He was starting to push my patience with movies like 'Land of the Lost.' However, it appears every time Ferrell matches up with director Adam McKay the laughs are non-stop. The duo has worked together on such comedies as Anchorman, Talladega Nights, Step-Brothers, and EastBound & Down.
So, when I saw a commercial for the new Comedy Central show Big Lake, I was quite intrigued by the two executive producers (Ferrell and McKay). If the show can recreate the comic genius that appears in their feature films then Comedy Central might have a hit on their hands. Comedy Central already airs four cable television successes (Daily Show, Colbert Report, Tosh.O, South Park), a successful Big Lake could put the network in a very good position.
Now, I am of course skeptical about the show, because its airing on cable television, but it never hurts to hope for the best!
