Intel announced today that a bunch of new netbooks from various manufacturers based on its new Dual-Core Atom processor will be released today. This should provide a great performance boost for netbook users, as multitasking on previous Atom based chipsets proved to be quite sluggish. Although users will appreciate the new second core utilization, I'd imagine that battery life will suffer as the dual core Atoms will by default draw more power than single core counterparts . However, the difference should hopefully be minimal .
