The new 2011 Ford Mustang has sparked our interest since it was first announced. Both the V6 and V8 versions look great, with the V6 trim offering great performance at a low price, and the V8 edition just being a plain old beast. The Mustang GT, with its 5.0 liter V8 akin to its older Fox-body brother, just got even more attractive with an announcement that Ford Racing will be selling supercharger upgrades for the engine.
The aftermarket supercharger will be a 2.3 liter Whipple twin-screw unit with an air to liquid intercooler. The base upgrade will provide 525 HP / 470 lb-ft of torque , and amazingly enough will come with a 1 year / 12,000 mile warranty. The more advanced kit will offer 624 hp / 536 lb-ft of torque, which will make your Mustang a complete monster.
