The window is closing fast on the aging Celtics, and I wonder if they have another title run in them. If you took the Celtics roster and went back ten years, you would have a dynasty. The only important players on the team who aren't on borrowed time are Rondo and Perkins, but the rest of the group is ancient. Below is the 2010-2011 Celtics roster. They clearly have some huge names, but unless Doc Rivers can invent a time machine, the Celtics may be in for a rough season.

Ray Allen-14 years
Avery Bradley-rookie
Marquis Daniels-7 years
Glen Davis-3 years
Semih Erden-rookie
Michael Finley-15 years
Tony Gaffney-rookie
Kevin Garnett-15 years
Luke Harangody-rookie
Oliver Lafayette-1 year
Jermaine O'Neal-14 years
Shaquille O'Neal-18 years
Kendrick Perkins-7 years
Paul Pierce-12 years
Nate Robinson-5 years
Rajon Rondo-4 years
Brian Scalabrine-9 years
Von Wafer-4 years

The names on this list are unreal: Allen, Finley, Garnett, Harangody (kidding), Jermaine and Shaq, and Pierce. Some of these guys still have some spring in their step, like Allen and Pierce, but the rest can only bring their veteran leadership to the table.

Shaq, aka "The Big Irrelevant" joins the Celtics.

I am very interested to see what rookie guard Avery Bradley can bring to the table. He is up there with Rondo athletically, and he should bring some much needed fire power to a half court oriented team. I am also waiting for Harangody to userp the role of jester from Scalabrine. Scalabrine has had that role locked up for the past 9 years, but there is only room for one red headed goon in the NBA. I personally cannot wait to see Scalabrine off the team. Nothing irks me more than when fans cheer for him when he enters the game. I guess they can relate to a nobody trying in vain to make a difference.

If the Celtics have any hope of winning the title, they better win it this year. The more time Lebron and Bosh have to get situated in Miami, the worse it is for every other team in the NBA. I fear that the Celtics may be the Knicks in 5 years, and I can only hope that this aging bunch has one more fight in them.
