Let?s just say Mike Posner got talent. You might know him for his mainstream single ?Cooler than Me? being played in many popular radio station all across the United States. The song in my opinion is mediocre. The Mike Posner I know had better songs than that and I hope his first studio album 31 Minutes to Take Off does not become a bust. I would hate to see such talent go to waste once he hits the big leagues. I am ready to pick up the album via Itunes when it comes out August 10.







Mike Posner is a talented musician who was just recently releasing mixtapes from his dorm room at Duke University using his keyboard and a macbook. There he became a household name performing for his peers and doing campus tours around the nation. I first heard of Mike Posner from my boy Kash Money who was a big Hip Hop guy. His song ?Drug Dealer Girl? was the stand out single from his mixtape A Matter of Time which Kash made me listen to on Youtube in 2007. From then on I knew this guy was going to be big and 3 years later, my predictions were correct and he was signed to J Records of Sony Entertainment after he graduated. Interesting enough Mike graduated Duke in 3 ? years with a 3.59 GPA while touring and performing his songs from his mixtapes. His style of music is a bit of RnB and rap mixed with electronic tunes. Mike Posner's voice is smooth and raspy creating a melodic calm in the lyrics he sings. He doesn?t like to be considered a rapper but a pop singer since there are so many elements in his style of music.







Mike Posner?s style of making music reminds me of our own Mikey of menversus, who himself likes to create music. Mikey's style is more of house/ techno, a whole different audience in my opinion than Mike Posner. But if he plays his card right he could make it big! The next Teisto maybe? Anyways I wish Mike Posner the best and be sure to keep a look out for his album, 31 Minutes to Take Off, hitting stores and Itunes on August 10. His is going to be a breakout artist so be prepared to hear his music everywhere in the near future being associated with many rap artist and RnB singers.
