As promised here is part two of the menversus.com NBA 2K11 preview; a mock draft of the first round. This list is for individuals who are doing a fantasy draft in the franchise portion of the game. This draft is good for other user players or against the computer. In order to get our results we ran several simulations with the most up to date ratings and then took into consideration age, personal opinion, and previous season performance. Here is what we came up with...Read more
When he shoots you in the face, you have to resist the strong urge to thank him. He once overcooked a grenade, just to know what a death felt like. Killstreaks are rewarded to him when he enters the game, because they are a foregone conclusion. Online services pay him to be a member. He is the greatest Call of Duty player in the world! ...Read more
After reading my fellow menversus.com bloggers post ?The Convenient Fan,? I started thinking about how this topic could apply to gaming. Obviously, you don?t see fair-weather gaming fans out there, unless your talking to someone of the opposite sex. However, what you do see is every guy who plays games claiming they are the best individual to ever pick up the controller. I mean I can?t tell you how many times I?ve been involved in a conversation and Halo or Madden comes up and some guy starts bragging about how amazing he is. Now one would think that this behavior would have stopped with the development of Xbox Live, the Playstation Network, etc. I mean its pretty easy to ask for someone?s gamertag and check their stats out, but do those numbers tell the whole story?...Read more

We are a brand driven society. It could be the clothes we wear, the televisions we watch, the food we eat, or the games we play. Now I know there are some hippie gamers out there who say they don?t buy brands. Well on the simple fact that you own either a Microsoft Xbox, a Sony Playstation, or a Nintendo Wii makes you a brand buyer. However, I wanted to go deeper then looking at the console you own, and examine how many games we play are ?brand? names. My research looked at fifty random gamertags on my friends list, and from that fifty I looked at each players five previously played games. I have to be honest the results even surprised me....Read more
As a former college baseball player I have a pretty high tolerance for games that focus on my sport. MLB: The Show is a strong game that brings a realistic feel to the sport. However, despite the ?Shows? high quality it fails to attract the mass audiences like other sports franchises such as Madden and NBA 2K. The reason for this is the inability for a baseball game to blend realism and fun, and no its not impossible....Read more
ESPN once again showed their ability to blow a simple decision way out of proportion. My favorite time of the year is coming up in two weeks, which is what you ask? It?s the Brett watch of course. ESPN will be interviewing Brett?s barber, butcher, and perhaps the guy who wipes his ass to determine if he?s coming back this season. All in attempt to boost their ratings and annoy the living shit out of sports enthusiasts....Read more
When the first Grand Theft Auto came out in 1997, the object of the game was basically to just drive around. Ironically, the series was going to be called, "Race N Chase". The GTA franchise made a major impact with GTA 2 in 1999 because of its kick ass features and originality....Read more
When acclaimed movie director Steven Spielberg develops the story for a video game, the franchise most likely has some promise. That?s how the Medal of Honor franchise started in 1999, a game commended for its great graphics, gameplay, and AI. The game arguably started the gaming world?s obsession with World War II shooters....Read more
A few years ago, my father was watching his favorite television show Battlestar Galactica, and he pleaded with me to watch with him. At the time, I wanted no part of it as I had watched clips of the original series that aired in the seventies. Eventually, my father wore me down and I watched the pilot. Let's just say I became addicted to the show that tackled some of today's greatest controversies....Read more
