The franchise
As promised here is part two of the menversus.com NBA 2K11 preview; a mock draft of the first round. This list is for individuals who are doing a fantasy draft in the franchise portion of the game. This draft is good for other user players or against the computer. In order to get our results we ran several simulations with the most up to date ratings and then took into consideration age, personal opinion, and previous season performance. I'm talking to YOU
After reading my fellow menversus.com bloggers post ?The Convenient Fan,? I started thinking about how this topic could apply to gaming. Obviously, you don?t see fair-weather gaming fans out there, unless your talking to someone of the opposite sex. However, what you do see is every guy who plays games claiming they are the best individual to ever pick up the controller. I mean I can?t tell you how many times I?ve been involved in a conversation and Halo or Madden comes up and some guy starts bragging about how amazing he is. Now one would think that this behavior would have stopped with the development of Xbox Live, the Playstation Network, etc. I mean its pretty easy to ask for someone?s gamertag and check their stats out, but do those numbers tell the whole story?...Read more

We all Love brands

We are a brand driven society. It could be the clothes we wear, the televisions we watch, the food we eat, or the games we play. Now I know there are some hippie gamers out there who say they don?t buy brands. Well on the simple fact that you own either a Microsoft Xbox, a Sony Playstation, or a Nintendo Wii makes you a brand buyer. However, I wanted to go deeper then looking at the console you own, and examine how many games we play are ?brand? names. As a former college baseball player I have a pretty high tolerance for games that focus on my sport. MLB: The Show is a strong game that brings a realistic feel to the sport. However, despite the ?Shows? high quality it fails to attract the mass audiences like other sports franchises such as Madden and NBA 2K.
